BC Hydro is reminding people to make sure emergency kits are ready to go as the fall storms begin to arrive.
Spokesperson Ted Olynyk says the first few storms of the year always bring down weaker branches and trees, which can knock out power.
Olynyk says it’s also a good reminder to make sure our emergency kits are up to date and fully stocked.
Olynyk says it’s important to have a flashlight with fresh batteries, a radio, and if you have a landline, make sure you have a corded phone as cordless phones won’t work when the power’s out.
