For this week, 1st street in Cumberland will be closed.
That comes from the Village, announcing that the road is being rebuilt, with Knappet construction performing pre-construction preparation.
While the work happens, the road will be closed to all traffic between Penrith and Dunsmuir Avenue. It will only be open for local motorists.
They ask you to pick a different route to drive. You can still have access to the cultural Centre’s parking lot from either the Penrith entrance or from First Street southbound.

The work is expected to finish by late spring.
