Cumberland’s fire department is looking for new recruits.
Cumberland Fire Rescue is advertising for volunteers to join and help protect the community, as dedicated, paid volunteer on-call firefighters and first responders.
The training and education program includes first aid, air brakes, and how to extract people from automobile crashes. Regular members must be 18 years of age or older. Junior members must be at least 16 years old. Applicants must be in good health and hold a clean Class 5 driver’s licence.
Volunteers who sign up by September 1 will have training beginning in early October.
To sign up, all you need to do is give the Fire Hall a call, or visit in person for more information.
