CVRD asking for feedback on updated agriculture plan

The Comox Valley Regional District is asking for your feedback on an updated agriculture plan.

Called the Comox Valley Agricultural Plan, it has been around since 2001, with the goal of helping the district find opportunities to improve the local agriculture sector and to keep it sustainable.

The district says they’re updating and modernizing the plan because several of its recommendations became outdated.

Community development and resilience manager of the district Lisa Kilpatrick says the update will set an improved path forward for farmers.

“We value the input received to date and look forward to hearing any final comments from the community,” said Kilpatrick.

They say the update would reflect on the issues affecting the sector today and help the district find ways to support it in the future. The goal is to launch it in the fall this year.

The draft update is available for feedback, which will be collected until September 30 at 4:00 p.m.
