People in the Comox Valley will have a cost-free way to travel around the area next week.
For one day on BC Day, BC Transit and the Comox Valley Regional District will offer free transit on all their routes effective August 5, 2024.
Regular service will operate on the weekend prior with all routes Monday becoming free of charge and operating on a Saturday schedule.
Detours will be put in place in preparation for the Nautical Days parade in Comox and delays are expected.

The free service allows community members to get to and from events such as Nautical Days or to other summer spots.
Riders are encouraged to use the Umo, Transit, or Google Transit apps to plan their rides and see available trip times.
