Comox Valley RCMP searching for suspect after smashing a car windshield with an axe

Police in the Comox Valley are looking for a male suspect who is suspected of causing damage to a car windshield. 

On August 6, around 10 p.m., a woman was parked between the Village of Cumberland and Comox Lake on Comox Lake Road when an unknown vehicle pulled in front of her vehicle. 

An unidentified man exited the vehicle with an axe and struck the windshield of the victim’s car before fleeing to his vehicle and heading towards Comox Lake. 

The victim described the man as around 5’7 tall, medium build, wearing a white baseball hat with no visible logo and a white bandana covering the man’s face.

They drove a four door, medium sized dark colour sedan with no front license plate. 

Investigators are aware several vehicles and campers were parked along the road near the location of the woman’s car.
