New affordable housing units for Hornby Island residents breaks ground this week

The BC NDP have set their sights on more affordable housing for Hornby Island.

MLA for Mid-Island Pacific Rim Josie Osborne announced last week that 26 affordable homes are coming for Hornby Residents.

The development is called Beulah Creek Village and will be a mix of studio, 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom units.

13 of those will have rents based on income, 5 will be low-income and 8 will be offered at market rates.

The Weiss Family donated land for the development and M’akola Housing will run it.

“I cannot express enough the profound gratitude and appreciation I have for all the people on Hornby Island that have brought this project to life,” said Osbourne on social media.
