Cops for Cancer Tour De Rock bike ride kicks off this weekend

Starting this weekend, Tour De Rock riders will cycle the Island to raise money for childhood cancer research.

BC RCMP says today marks the start of Cops for Cancer Tour De Rock, an annual event where members of police and emergency services bike-ride across Vancouver Island to raise money for childhood cancer research.

Along with the research, they aim to raise money to support services at the Canadian Cancer Society, with last year’s event seeing more than $1 million raised.

Currently they have raised $293,416.90 for the cause, with Cops for Cancer hoping to reach their goal of $1 million.
