Voting placers on Hornby and Denman Islands were temporarily closed this morning because of power outages caused by last night’s storm.
Elections BC says the Hornby Island Community Hall and the Denman Island Seniors Centre are now open again for voters to come cast their ballots.
More than 300 homes on Denman found themselves without power this morning. According to BC Hydro, it was knocked out shortly after 2:20 am this morning because of a tree hitting the wires.
Crews were able to restore power by 10:30 am this morning, and there are no more outages reported in the region.
