Strong winds expected along Island’s entire eastern coastline

The entire east coast of Vancouver Island can expect strong winds today and into tomorrow, as an intense low-pressure system makes its way towards BC.

From the North Island, all the way south to Victoria, gale force winds caused by the approaching system can be expected today according to Environment Canada with some regions getting gusts up to 30 knots.

As the low pressure system passes, the winds will persist but will change direction. They will die down overnight, but will pick up again Monday morning in all regions along the Island’s eastern coastline and throughout the Strait of Georgia.
