Heavy rain and wind on the way for Sunday night coast-wide

Enjoy the mild weather while it lasts, there’s another big storm on the way tonight.

Environment Canada says strong winds and heavy rains are on the way tonight, and are expected to affect most of the Island. The west coast is expected to get up to 100 millimetres of rain tonight and into Monday morning and other regions will also see heavy rainfall.

As well, in the north, winds up to 100 kilometres per hour are expected later this evening. Strong winds are also expected along the entire eastern coast of the Island and in the Strait of Georgia, where there’s a gale warning in effect and winds will exceed 80 kilometres per hour overnight.

Stormy weather will continue Monday, with the worst of it expected to be over around mid-day.
