Construction issue noticed for Lazo, Balmoral Road intersection as part of Sewer Conveyance Project

The Comox Valley Regional District has announced an upcoming traffic change. 

As part of the Comox Valley Sewer Conveyance Project, a temporary traffic pattern change to the Lazo Road and Balmoral Road intersection and a road closure moving in one block sections west of Torrence Road starting Wednesday November 20 until approximately November 25. 

It will then shift west of the intersection up to Mulholland Drive and is estimated to last from November 26 to December 8. 

Lazo Road from Balmoral Road to Guthrie Road will be re-opened prior to construction beginning.

From November 20-25, the CVRD is asking traffic going to Gage, Balmoral, Hughes, Morland, and Curtis Road to go via Lazo Road by way of Guthrie Road.

Lazo Road residents and traffic going to Sandcliff Drive, Mulholland Drive, and Butchers Road are asked to come from Torrence Road. 

Local traffic will only be able to access the road from November 26 to December 8 with Lazo Road and Sandcliff Drive residents are asked to come via Guthrie Road. 

Work will be conducted from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. from Monday to Saturday with detour routes planned and supported by traffic control personnel.

Commuters are asked to plan their routes accordingly and anticipate extra travel time during the work periods.
