Walking to Marina Park will be brighter since new lighting was added in Comox.
In a release, the Town says the Comox Business in Action put in new lighting on the alleyway connecting downtown Comox to Marina Park.
The project’s goal is to provide not only safety but also a welcoming atmosphere during the darker months.
The project was spearheaded by Business in Action, and the Town says nearby building owners and the dÉsterre Seniors’ Centre helped bring the project to life.
Mayor Nicole Minions says this project is an example of the partnership between the Town and Downtown Business Association.
“With the BIA’s leadership, this initiative has created a vibrant, accessible, and beautiful ambiance for the area, especially during our short fall and winter days,” said Minions.
This project comes as staff work on the Downtown Enhancement Action Plan, a plan that looks to enhance the downtown for the future.
They hope that this project helps improve connectivity and the overall experience for the community.
