Be ready for outages tonight as a wind warning is in effect for parts of the Island and Coast.
According to Environment and Climate Change Canada this morning, an intense pacific frontal system is moving through the BC coast this evening, bringing strong winds of 60 kilometers an hour, gusting up to 90 per hour.
The winds will affect Courtenay to Campbell River, Nanoose Bay to Fanny Bay, and Saltery Bay to Powell River, where residents could face power outages, possible delays and disruptions to travelling, and falling tree branches this long weekend.
They say the winds should ease early Monday morning.
