Tributes across the province continue to come in for former Premier John Horgan.
Horgan passed away Tuesday morning at the age of 65 after being diagnosed with cancer for the third time in his life back in June.
Cumberland Mayor Vickey Brown said she’ll remember Horgan for making sure voices on Vancouver Island were heard province wide.
“I really appreciated that he brought a Vancouver Island lens to provincial governance after many decades of Island leaders feeling taken advantage of for our resources, it was refreshing to feel heard.”
Brown added Horgan brought humanity back into politics and was a “exemplary leader.”
Courtenay Mayor Bob Wells and Comox Mayor Nicole Minions did not respond to a statement request in time; however, flags were lowered to half-mast at Comox Town Hall and will stay that way until Monday, November 18.
