WEEK IN REVIEW
It was an ugly last weekend for the Glacier Kings, dropping both contests in blowout fashion.
They dropped Friday night’s road game against the Victoria Cougars by a score of 9-1, before returning home Saturday night and losing 5-1 to the Kerry Park Islanders.
Head Coach Curtis Toneff opted to give his team a few days off citing it’s been a long stretch of games and little time off following Thanksgiving Weekend last month.
“We decided it was time for a rest and the boys came back hungry on Wednesday morning and ready to go.”
Toneff also said a sickness has been spreading through the locker room going back to the end of last week and wanted everyone to rest up and get healthy.
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 15 7:30 P.M. VS OCEANSIDE GENERALS
Only one game this weekend for the Glacier Kings hosting the Oceanside Generals on Friday night.
It’s been a rough go of late for the Generals, having lost 15 straight games with their last win coming back on September 19.
It will be the team’s first meeting since a home and home over the Thanksgiving Weekend where the Glacier Kings took both contests by scores of 5-4 and 2-0.
Toneff said he’s looking for a better effort from his team in their own end, with too many lapses in previous games which cost them.
“I think we need to get in on their defense and be right on top of them and at the same time clean up our defensive side of the puck.”
Oceanside sits in last place in the VIJHL with a record of 2-15-2-0.
