CVRD warning park users to use caution while visiting because of recent storms

The recent bomb cyclone has the Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) warning people about using parks.

The CVRD said people planning to use them should use extreme caution while visiting them and look for potential hazards.

Manager of Parks for the CVRD Mark Harrison said for everyone’s safety it’s best to stay out of the parks during severe weather events.

“The recent storm and significant winds have impacted our parks and caused damage to trees and left branches and other debris on the trails making the terrain hazardous.”

Parks staff are assessing damage at all parks and said the clean-up will take time as crews and resources are limited.

Harrison said with another storm approaching tonight, it’s best to use caution and ask for patience for them to get the parks cleaned up.
