The Town of Comox wants to hear your vision of the town’s future as their community plan gets updated.
On Thursday, the Town announced they are updating the Official Community Plan, a document that guides growth and development within Comox, with a shared vision, goals, and policies. The last time the plan was updated was back in 2011.
Mayor Nicole Minions says as the community grows, they want to make sure this plan reflects the values and visions people have in the town.
“This is your opportunity to share what you love about Comox and how we can make it even better for future generations,” said Minions.
For this new update, they say it aims to offer guidance on policy areas for housing, culture, transportation, economic development, climate change, recreation, truth and reconciliation, environmental protection, parks and trails, development permit guidelines, and infrastructure.
As part of this update, the Town has launched an online survey where you can share what you value about Comox today, and what you would like to see improved or changed in the future.
Survey is open until December 10. For the link, click here.
