As the Sewer Conveyance Project continues, a local intersection in Comox will be closed for two days.
The Comox Valley Regional District has announced the intersection of Beaufort Avenue and Port Augusta Street is closing in the coming week because of construction for the project.
Through this closure, access will be limited to local residents and businesses within the construction zone, including the Comox Harbour Authority and Blackfin Pub.
The district says you won’t be able to drive through that intersection while crews work, adding eastbound traffic on Beaufort will be directed south on Port Augusta to the parking lot of Marina Park.
If you are visiting the pub or the medical services building on 1757 Beaufort Avenue, they ask you to travel via Nordin Street, and to use the west parking lot via Wilcox Street if going to Marina Park.
Construction will run between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. on December 3 and December 4.
In the meantime, they recommend you plan your routes, avoid the intersection, and be ready for more travel time.
