Comox Valley RCMP are asking for your help following a suspicious Union Bay incident.
Police say on Saturday at 10:10 p.m., they got a report of a man attempting to climb onto the second-floor deck of a home in Union Bay.
The homeowner was alerted to loud banging on the side of her home, seeing the man wearing what appeared to be a gas mask on her deck.
“She reported that after encountering him briefly, he attempted to climb up to the second-floor deck where she was standing,” said Comox Valley RCMP on social media.
“She immediately retreated indoors and contacted 911.”
They say frontline members, police dog services, and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section were deployed to the scene, where despite area searches and forensic examination, they couldn’t find the suspect.
If you live on or around the 5500-block of 7th street in Union Bay, you are asked to check surveillance systems, doorbell cameras, or dashcams for anything unusual around the time of the incident.
