CVRD reminds you to pay utility bills by December 31

The Comox Valley Regional District reminds you to pay your utility bills by the end of the year.

The district is putting up the reminder because of the ongoing Canada Post Strike, which has been affecting mailing all over the country for the past few weeks.

They say your bills for water service, garbage, and recycling collection needs to be paid in full to avoid the transfer of unpaid balances onto property taxes.

District chief financial officer Lucy Wiwcharuk says they encourage customers to sign up to get bills electronically and to set up automatic payments.

“We are happy to help set this up for you so please give our office a call,” said Wiwcharuk.

They say if your utility payment was sent through Canada Post, are unsure of your account status, bought a home recently and didn’t get an invoice, or you want to get invoices by email, call them at 250-334-6000.

You have until December 31 at 4:30 p.m. to pay the bills.
