Vancouver Island has a new top cop.
Chief Superintendent Bruce Singer is now the commander for Island District RCMP. He formerly served in the Lower Mainland as Officer in Charge of the Lower Mainland District Integrated Teams, overseeing more than 450 officers and employees across 33 communities.
He’s a third-generation RCMP officer, and has served in the Canadian Armed Forces as well as working as a sheriff.
Outside of work, Singer is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He values balancing professional demands with family life, volunteering as Chair of Cops for Cancer and teaching scuba diving to share his passion for the ocean with others.
Singer stepped into his new role on Monday.
