Number Six Mine Park is getting a new activity to be used for free or through recreational programming.
At the December 9 council meeting, the Village of Cumberland approved the installation of a climbing boulder to be installed at the park.
Four residents have been working on getting the proposal approved since June of 2023, being tasked with raising 100% of the project’s funds.
At the beginning of 2024, village council decided to support the project and give the group $2,000 from the Community Grant Program.

The project had enough funds by the summer and three boulders had been purchased from Rockcraft, with the boulders needing to be shipped to Cumberland by the end of 2024.
