The Comox Valley Regional District (CVRD) wants to inform residents about upcoming projects involving the Alternative Approval Process (AAP).
An information session is being held in early January about three upcoming initiatives, with two focusing on reducing homelessness in the Comox Valley, and the other about building a second artificial turf field.
The first housing initiative would propose change to the Emergency Shelter and Supportive Housing Land Acquisition Service to the Comox Valley Housing Service to provide non-market housing and financial assistance to a CVRD established corporation.
The second would increase the maximum requisition for the Comox Valley Homelessness Supports Service providing financial and capacity support which helps address homelessness.
CVRD staff will be at the meeting to answer questions and provide additional information about the changes they are proposing.
The meeting is scheduled for January 9, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the CVRD Civic Room located at their main office.
