Comox Valley residents are being advised to stay away from the Puntledge River tomorrow.
BC Hydro said they will be testing the Puntledge Hydroelectric System Operating Gates that will result in higher releases from the Comox Dam.
As a result of the testing, public warning systems may be triggered from the Puntledge Diversion Dam, upstream to Barber’s Hole and Nymph Falls, and down to Puntledge Park.
During the testing, the Comox Dam will fluctuate from 20 cubic metres per second (m3/s), and could reach as high as 90 m3/s.
