Business leaders challenge Eby to put words into action for resource industries

A coalition of BC resource businesses is applauding Premier David Eby for his comments this week at the BC Natural Resources Forum.

Business and resource leaders from farming, mining, forestry, and other sectors say they welcome Eby’s vision for resource industries in BC. They praised his promises to cut red tape, speed up decision-making, and ensure the government is no longer working at cross purposes to industry.

Now they are encouraging the premier to move from words to action, especially with the potential threat looming of US tariffs on imported Canadian goods. They say the province needs to encourage investment across all resource sectors, including agriculture, aquaculture, forestry, mining, and natural gas.

“When our resource sector thrives, so do our communities, workers, and the entire provincial economy,” says Laura Jones, President and CEO of the Business Council of British Columbia (BCBC).
