RV caught on fire in Cumberland today

A recreational vehicle caught on fire in Cumberland Monday.

The Village says the fire took place on a road right of way in the Union Road area in the early morning, resulting in firefighters containing the flames. As of now, the cause behind the incident is still unknown.

They say recreational vehicle fires can pose risks to the community and firefighters as these vehicles can burn quickly, with the propane and fuels inside increasing those risks.

Even in cold weather, the fire could have spread to the surrounding forests, cemeteries, and neighbouring industrial properties.
