The 2015 Western Canada Summer Games were a successful affair for Team BC!
Comox Valley swimmers Jordyn Ryan and Brooke Lamoureux won a combined 9 medals!
16-year-old Ryan won gold in the 200-metre butterfly and was a part of the bronze-medal winning team in the 4 x 50 metre medley relay and the 4 x 100 metre medley relay.
Ryan’s Comox Valley Aquatic Club Sharks teammate Lamoureux picked up silver in the 1500-metre freestyle. She also helped a pair of relay teams to gold (4 x 50 metre and 4 x 200 metre).
The two athletes wrapped up the event in style and posted a 1-2 finish in the 5 kilometre open-water swim, with Lamoureux taking gold and Ryan winning silver.
British Columbia finished at the top of the pack, winning the most medals throughout the tournament with 280 in total, including 134 gold. You can view full results from the Wood Buffalo, Alberta event through the Games’ website.
