Vegetation work planned within the Puntledge Public Use Management area next week

Minor detours and delays could be coming to the Puntledge Public Use Management area over the next few weeks.

Crews will be conducting vegetation maintenance within the area starting on Tuesday, February 25 and ending Friday, March 14.

The work includes brushing, delimbing, and targeted tree removals to address hazard trees and trail pinch points.

The work will affect the East River Trial, West River Trail, and the Bevan Trail causing delays and minor detours on each one.

Vegetation crews will do their best to limit impacts for trail users, but delays may take up to 15 minutes.

Crews will be on site from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays completing work in advance of the bird-nesting window.

Other trail improvements, including the replacement of aging bridges, culverts, and boardwalks are expected to start in June.
