Youth BC skiers heading to Mount Washington April 5-6 for Teck Coast Zone Finals Races

Mount Washington Alpine Resort will host another racing weekend to start the month of April.

Skiers aged 10 through 18 will compete at the Teck Coast Zone Finals Races on April 5 and 6 at Mount Washington.

Mt. Washington Ski Club President Michael Dingle said it’s a great opportunity to showcase skiing on Vancouver Island and the facilities they have.

“This event is a fantastic way to wrap up the season, bringing together athletes from across the Coast Zone for an exciting weekend of competition and camaraderie.”

The two-day competition will feature a Slalom with two different runs on April 5, and a Mixed Team Dual Slalom on April 6 including two qualifying runs for each team and knockout rounds to follow.

The races will feature over 150 different athletes from ski clubs across the region, including Whistler, Cypress, Grouse, Seymour, Sasquatch, and Mount Washington.

People are welcome to come out and support the weekend of ski racing, with races to start around 7:45 a.m. both days.

The event will be the final competition of the season in the Coast Zone.
