Expect your water to be slightly discoloured; the Town of Comox will flush the watermain next week.
In a public notice, the Town says crews will perform watermain flushing to remove any built-up sediment in its drinking water.
During the work, they say you can expect a temporary slight discolouring in water, which isn’t a hazard to your health.
They do recommend you reserve some drinking water while crews work, and if discolouration happens, just run a cold-water tap for 10 minutes.
The Town also recommends you don’t wash your laundry during the flushing hours, which are between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and to slow down when approaching flushing crews while driving.
Flushing will start next Monday and will run until May 23.
