No one was injured in a fire in Comox this morning.
The fire broke out in a trailer home on Pemberton Place in Comox shortly before 9:00 a.m.
Over 20 Comox Fire Rescue members attended the incident, arriving to find heavy smoke and flames had broken through the roof and involved the attic space.
The single occupant in the home was able to escape with no injuries and had no pets living with them.
A preliminary investigation found the fire to be caused by a faulty bathroom fan which overheated and caught fire.
The fire was controlled and extinguished before damaging other exposures, but the home sustained significant damage by the fire, heat and smoke.
Everyone is reminded to clean all bathroom or other powered vents regularly and to test their smoke alarms twice a year and replace those over ten years of age.
