2015 was an active year for construction across the island – including the Comox Valley.
CMHC Senior Market Analyst Eric Bond says starts were up 56 percent compared to 2014.
Both Campbell River and Powell River saw decreases in housing starts last year.
Powell River had 23 new starts in 2015 – compared to 36 in 2014.

Campbell River had 93 new starts last year – compared to 156 the year before.
