With local elections right around the corner, the Mayor of Comox is the first in the Valley to announce that he’s seeking re-election.
Mayor Paul Ives says there’s plenty of issues he’s looking to tackle for his next term; perhaps the biggest is what will be done with St. Joseph’s Hospital, with construction now underway for the Courtenay leg of the North Island Hospitals project.
Ives was first elected Mayor in 2008, and was re-elected in 2011 in a very tight race.
The election is slated for November 15th.
