Comox Valley teachers have blasted Premier Christy Clark for her comments on the ongoing BC teachers dispute. We spoke with Gavin McPhail, a learning support teacher at Courtenay Elementary School.
As for his third issue of concern with the Premier’s comments?
Meanwhile BC Education Minister Peter Fassbender says he hopes a deal can be hammered out with striking teachers to take down their picket lines, so bargaining can resume. McPhail says that job action will continue.
McPhail says teachers have compromised in their bargaining demands, but claims the government has not shown the same flexibility.
Meanwhile Education Minister Peter Fassbender says government staff have also been told to come up with contingency plans to ensure Grade 12 students can still graduate, but says that depends on how much time is lost because of the strike.
