Island Health is looking for an operator for a Sobering Assessment Centre in Campbell River.
The Health Authority has issued an request for proposal to provide the service.
Project Manager Shana Hall says they’re looking for a community-based site and service to deliver the Sobering and Assessment Program. This would allow people who are experiencing intoxication to stay in a safe, warm environment.
Hall says this kind of service currently isn’t available in Campbell River.
Hall says ideally the new centre would be up and running by the end of the year.
