On September 5th, 2014 the Comox Valley was visited by several Vancouver Island traffic units on a national Impaired Driving Enforcement day.
Along with members of the Comox Valley detachment, 1303 vehicles were stopped, at 7 different check stop locations and the drivers were screened for signs of impairment by alcohol or drugs.
Constable Don Sinclair from the Comox Valley RCMp says, there were plenty of violations handed out.
Constable Sinclair adds, there was even one charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking narcotics.

Tim Walton, the detachment commander of the Comox Valley Detachment who, also took part in the campaign at one of the check points, added that it was a job well done by all teams involved.
