The City of Courtenay has released the legal costs of the Maple Pool Campground dispute.
Council made the decision in camera this week to release the lump-sum costs of the almost-six year case, which resulted in $240,757 in legal costs.
That amount includes the mediation and settlement costs for the case.
Mayor Larry Jangula says there has been a lot of interest in Maple Pool since the dispute began back in 2010.

As part of the settlement, 53 sites at Maple Pool can be used for affordable housing. Those sites must be on the highest elevation of the property and the owners agreed to provide waivers of liability to the City in relation to flood hazards and costs.
