Road work is taking place on Lerwick Rd, starting today.
Manager of Transportation and Utilities with the City of Courtenay, Craig Perry, says it’s being done as part of the work on the new hospital.
Perry says crews need to do some curb and gutter replacement and move a gas line.
He says the roads will be properly marked. Pedestrians will be detoured to the east sidewalk between Mission Road and the Home Depot entrance for the duration of the closure.

The work is expected to last until early November.
