The provincial government will be creating a Centre on Substance Use to try to address the ongoing overdose crisis in British Columbia.
The province declared a public health emergency earlier this year after a spike in overdose deaths, including on Vancouver Island.
Premier Christy Clark says fentanyl has become a plague for BC families. She says BC was the first in the country to declare this a public emergency.
Clark says $5-million will go to fund the centre, while another $5-million will go to a task force.
