The College of Veterinarians of British Columbia have banned the practice of cosmetic tail docking on dogs, horses and cattle across the province.
Doctor Shawn Llewellyn says this puts the province in line with many other provinces across Canada.
He notes this means veterinarians found doing this practice could face severe consequences, like fines or even having their license revoked.
Llewellyn says a lot of countries overseas have had bans on tail docking and ear cropping for years. He says this is a big win for veterinarians and animals throughout the province.
