Mothers Against Drunk Driving Canada is expressing concern about a plan by the province to increase the types of businesses that can serve alcohol.
The government has announced new changes that will allow all types of businesses to apply for liquor licences, starting in the new year.
MADD CEO Andrew Murie says it would be a mistake to assume that increasing the availability of alcohol will not lead to issues.
Murie says the government had already gone far enough to expand liquor availability before opening up the opportunity for more businesses to get liquor licences.
