Local officials are welcoming the news of a new training centre coming to 19 Wing Comox.
The Federal government has announced that Airbus has won the bid to replace the aging Buffalo search and rescue planes and also confirmed that the training centre for the new planes will be in Comox.
Comox Mayor Paul Ives says it’s exciting to have the training centre confirmed.
Ab Jagat is a retired military officer who flew search and rescue and was on the committee which worked to promote bringing the training centre to Comox.
