Work is coming along on the redevelopment of the Comox Centre Mall.
Project spokesperson David Coon says demolition work is taking place at the former Fields department store space. “We’ve started taking off the balance of the roof over the other retail area and part of the former Fields space, which then will be demolished and turned into surface parking. The balance of the Fields space will accommodate the new Dollarama opening in the fall of this year”, says Coon.
He says the work should be done by August, and he’s very excited to be a part of the process.
Coon says Ontario-based Motion Specialties has chosen the mall as their new Vancouver Island location. He adds they’re finalizing the last two deals to lease out the third floor office space in the mall.
