You can now apply to take part in the 2017 Canada Day parade in the city of Courtenay.
Edwin Grieve of the July 1st committee says vendors can also apply to take part in the festivities.
He notes that if vendors can get their applications in before May 20th, all food vendors will receive $50 discounts on their booth rental.
Grieve adds the celebrations are a huge part of the city’s summer vibe. “…Cumberland has their Empire Days…Comox has Nautical Days…[and] this is our [City of Courtenay] time to shine”, Grieve says.

Applications can be found through the Comox Valley Canada Day website.
The deadline to apply is June 26th, 2017.
