You can count 19 Wing Comox among the many who took part in the Great British Columbia Shakeout on Thursday, which is essentially a giant earthquake drill for the entire province.
Captain Trevor Reid says crews practiced a number of different emergency preparedness exercises throughout the base.
Of course, at 10:16 in the morning, everyone was encouraged to drop, cover and hold on for sixty seconds. Reid says as military members, it’s obviously important to be prepared in case of an emergency.
Over 730,000 people from around the province took part in the shakeout this year, compared to over 690,000 from last year according to the shakeout website.
