The new North Island Hospital Comox Valley campus opens on Sunday, October 1st.
Emergency and Obstetric patients can begin accessing the new hospital through the Emergency Department starting at 5:30 AM.
Island Health says until then, for emergency assistance call 911 or go to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox.
The North Island Hospital Emergency Department entrance is off of Lerwick Road near the NIC Access Road, and the main entrance can be accessed by the new Waters Place intersection on Lerwick Road.

Island Health asks that visitors wait until after 1 PM to visit patients to ensure a smooth transition into the new facility on Sunday.
