A Cumberland resident has started a fundraising page for a husband and father who recently suffered a stroke.
Joe Ronan is currently recovering at Nanaimo General Hospital after suffering a stroke on September 15th.
His biggest challenge is Aphasia, which impairs his ability to process speech. Apraxia is also causing difficulties coordinating the muscles used to produce the sounds of speech.
In just a few days, the community has raised over $11,000 of an initial $8,000 goal to pay for a private speech language pathologist to speed up Joe’s recovery.
