The proposed Comox No. 2 pump station project has been put on hold after an investigation revealed some significant issues.
Senior Manager of Water & Wastewater Kris La Rose says the Sewage Commission has agreed to look into alternate options for re-routing the forcemain away from the Willemar Bluffs.
“The three potential red flags that we were looking at were the condition of the forcemain that would continue to be in use beyond when the project was put in place, the total capital cost of the project and some potential risks to the groundwater in the area.”
The Comox Valley Regional District will hold an open house at the Comox Golf Course on November 9th from 5 to 7 PM to update the public on the project. More information can be found through the CVRD’s website.
