We’re in for some wet snow.
A special weather statement from Environment Canada says a Pacific low will approach the BC south coast tonight. The statement is for the east coast of the island from Campbell River down to Duncan.
The mild, moist air will combine with cool air from the interior to give a mix of rain and snow. The rain is likely to start later this evening and then change over to wet snow overnight.
Environment Canada says snowfall amounts could vary widely but heavy, wet snow between five and 10 centimetres within a short period of time is possible. The agency is keeping an eye on things and will issue more updates as needed.
